Hudson House

With expansive views of the Hudson River, this waterfront retreat was designed to be a year round destination for a growing Manhattan-based family.  The house is oriented to the south to take advantage of river views and passive heating during the winter months.  Every room in the house has its own exterior space whether it be a small, private deck off each of the bedrooms or the large, riverfront deck off the living room.  This feature helps create the perception of having significant additional space for large family gatherings without the added cost.  The bedrooms are cozy while the living, dining and kitchen spaces are open and airy with twelve foot ceilings and a central fireplace.  A separate, adjoining media room removes the television from the main living space while maintaining a visual connection to the river.
