Paulus Hook Row House

Single Family Residence - Renovation/ Alteration - Jersey City, NJ - Completed 2018

This home, along with it’s sister structures to the east, was built in the 1980’s as a two family in an evolving Historic District in Downtown Jersey City. Our clients bought it with the intention of combining the two units into one bright and open home. The central challenge with this and most row house projects is bringing natural light into the interior spaces. Our strategy here was to open the interior as much as possible, locate large windows on the front and back of the house, and add a combination of several skylights and floor plate openings to bring light down into the space.
